Consider this more like the One First After Dark, where we get real about all things in the legal profession, parenthood, and life more generally.

Some of you may be wondering “Who the hell is this lady and why has she taken over my favorite nerdy newsletter?!” For those who don’t know me: Hello. I’m Karen Vladeck. I am a law firm partner-turned-legal recruiter, mom to our two fantastic girls (and one pug), and general provider of color commentary on everything Steve does.

In Karen’s Corner, I will address reader-submitted questions in a segment titled Ask Me Anything; give you a bit more insight into our daily lives as two working parents in Day in the Life; and try to pass along some of my favorite current obsessions in Karen’s Picks. I hope we will all learn some things, laugh and/or cry, and just generally have some fun (at Steve’s expense).
